ARTIST BIO

I have been interested in drawing/painting since I was about twelve years old.  Growing up in Maritius I studied Art at the Juniour Technical Colledge.  When I moved to Australia I studied Art and Design at Dandenong Colledge of TAFE, before doing a Bachelor of Art at Chisholm Institute of Technology (Monash University) It was during an Art Study Tour that my love of watercolour originated, when I saw Paintings by Turner.  I've worked as an Art Teacher in Secondary Schools, private tutor, and in Outside School Hours Care.

Over the years I have had various teachers and mentors, attending classes and workshops by Jean Cowan, Jill Reitmeyer, Alvaro Castagnet, David Taylor, Malcolm Beatie, Joseph Zbukvic, Robert Wade, Herman Pekel, Alan Close and other talented Artists. I'm also a member of the Ferntree Gully Art Society and Whitehorse Art Association. Since 1998 I have received fifty three Fine Art Awards.

Each year I have an extended break to paint outdoors, which I find refreshing.  I also paint from still life and photographs that I take while on Holidays as well as, just out and about.  Since 2014 I have reintoduced other mediums such as oil, acrylics and mixed media to my work.
