Marilyn was first captivated by the joy of painting and drawing during early childhood. For the past 30 years, she has painted with a group of artists who have become her close friends.
Under the guidance and encouragement of artist and teacher Kevin Boucher, Marilyn has developed her own way of seeing and interpreting her subjects. While still alive to the challenges of painting in a traditional representative manner, she also loves impressionism. Marilyn paints in acrylics and oils.
Painting is central to her life and happiness. Marilyn paints her garden, her local parklands, Melbourne, the Mornington Peninsula and the Victorian high country, where she regularly spends her summers with friends. In winter, she paints still life in her home studio.
In retirement Marilyn and her husband regularly visit NZ and the UK. She loves to capture the beauty of England in the spring and autumn, and NZ vistas.
