ARTIST BIO

SUSAN FARRELL

Susan is an Artist who lives on the Mornington Peninsula with her husband and menagerie of animals, including her favourite Art subject, her Rainbow Lorikeet Archie. She has been painting since she was a child.

Susan studied Graphic Art at Swinburne, Melbourne. Over the years she has done numerous Art courses and Workshops including Folk Art, Floral Art, Pastels and Acrylics, and more recently several workshops experimenting with her abstract techniques and impressionism.

She has been exhibiting and successfully selling works since 2010 at Art Shows all over Melbourne and interstate. Her artwork can be found in private collections all over Australia and USA.

Susan now specialises in Acrylics. She is well known for her use of colour and texture.  Her backgrounds are mainly abstract with real life subjects. Her love of Animals and Birds is apparent in all her paintings. Her subjects are realistic but possess a special quality that enables the viewer to discover the magic within and be taken on their own journey of imagination!

Susan’s works include her “Blue Wren” series, “Rainbow Lorikeets”, “Ocean” themes, and of course the “Endangered Animal” series.  She is also a popular commission and Pet Portrait artist.  Prints are available of most of her paintings.

Susan also has interests as a writer, gardener and has won several national awards for her earlier customer machine quilting.

Susan also teaches weekly Classes and Workshops at the Benton Square C.C.in Mornington.

Fellow Artists and Beginners are welcome.
